This rare, unstamped Kohno era Aranjuez guitar is being offered up at a discounted price to account for the cosmetic flaws shown in the pictures. Any un-pictured cosmetic flaw would be considered slight and normal for a 40+ year old guitar. None of the cosmetic flaws affect the beautiful tone of this great guitar. The guitar will come to you without a guitar case but will be professionally packed and insured. The shipping charges will be waived for this guitar. FREE SHIPPING to the lower 48 states only. The guitar has had a recent PROFESSIONAL luthier set-up and a new bone saddle and bone nut has been installed. The guitar will arrive with new, ProArte Carbon strings (hard tension) but will be shipped detuned. As collectors know, Aranjuez guitars have a fantastic reputation and are considered to be “top of line”, made in Japan vintage guitars. The Aranjuez line had a strong affiliation with master luthier Masaru Kohno and in fact some of the Aranjuez line bear his personal “Kohno” stamp. While this guitar does NOT bear the coveted stamp, because of its age it is assumed that his influence was in full-force during its construction. The guitar has no structural flaws and plays beautifully. I have tried to capture the cosmetic flaws accurately. Beyond the cosmetic flaws, the solid cedar top is beautifully tightly grained. The sides and back are solid rosewood and the fingerboard is ebony. I assume the rosewood is Indian but some high-end Japanese guitars of this vintage shipped to the States with Brazilian rosewood. Tone wise, it would be very difficult to tell the difference in tone. The age and the solid top on this guitar provide a professional grade tone. I have priced this highly collectible, beautifully voiced guitar fairly to make way for an incoming custom made guitar that is nearing completion. I hate to part with it but my limited space dictates that I make room.
