Up for your consideration is my American Fender Nashville Telecaster B-Bender. I purchased this guitar new in October of 2011. It has been played very little due to physical limitations from an injury to my left arm, leaving me with not enough strength to effectively push the neck down to activate the b-bender. I have finally decided to let someone else have it and use it’s full potential. The guitar looks like a new guitar! It has low action and plays very smooth. The tone in all positions is wonderful. It has that Tele twang in the bridge and neck positions and the Strat sound in the middle and mixed positions. By playing with the tone control, the versatility of this guitar is evident. I also put Fender locking tuners on it to help keep it in tune, which they do very well! That is the only modification that has been made to the guitar. If the buyer would rather have the original tuners reinstalled, I will get my tech to do that at no charge to the buyer. That will also require a new set of strings that can be negotiated if the buyer does not want either Dean Markley Blue Steel Custom Lights or Dean Markley Blue Steel 10’s put on it. I supply my strings to my tech. The strings that are on the guitar are the Dean Markley Blue Steel Custom Light, 9 – 46. I like the heavier bottom end of 10’s and the ease of bending of 9’s. The guitar has only been played in my smoke-free home and a few times with our worship group at church. The guitar has been stored in the case most of the time since I bought it. I keep a Herco humidifier in the case to help maintain the correct humidity so the wood does not dry out. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and the quality and playability of this guitar would rival any Custom Shop Fender guitar. I have played Fender Custom Shop guitars and in my humble opinion, I do not believe they are worth the extra money. The neck is a very light maple color, almost a “bleached” look, and looks great. The pics don’t do it justice. I still remember opening the case the first time and saying WOW! There isn’t any fret or neck wear. When I got the guitar, my guitar tech set it up and I have had him recheck it every year or so and he has only made a couple of minor adjustments, mainly intonation and slight truss rod adjustments. He believes that’s because I keep the humidity correct so the wood does not change with the seasonal changes. When you see this guitar, it’s like opening a 2011 time capsule and finding a new guitar! I don’t believe there are many others that can compare to this one! For whatever reason, Fender stopped production of the American Fender Nashville B-Bender Telecaster, leaving a void for only boutique benders in the $3000 – $8000 and more range, or sending your Tele body to someone to have them install a bender. The Fender American Nashville B-Bender Telecaster was modeled after the personally customized instruments of some of Nashville’s top players. It features the Parsons-Green B-Bender system and adds a Texas Special Strat pickup in the middle position and 5-way Strat-o-Tele switching.
