USA Hamer Eclipse, One-Piece Body! Mini Humbuckers. Better than Gibson Les Paul Junior, Quality! Beautiful Mid 90s Hamer USA Eclipse. Made in USA by Hamer this Eclipse is a workhorse. Eclipse includes a Mahogany body with top and rear contours, mahogany neck with a medium D carve that measures .84″ at the 1st fret and .87″ at the 12th, Seymour Duncan mini-humbuckers, Sperzel Locking tuners, Wilkinson/Gotoh bridge, and a deep dark rosewood fret board. It is extremely comfortable to play for extended periods. Because of this she’s been played a bit. Upon a casual glance the guitar looks perfect and it has no breaks Upon closer inspection you can see a few dings and pick scratches. None of the wear is serious nor does it affect playability. Just good honest wear from years of use. Your Eclipse will ship in a Wasburn hard shell case. Your guitar will be professionally packed and insured. All items ship the first business day after payment is received. If you know Hamer USA guitars, you probably miss them. IMHO they were making some of the finest instruments made in the USA. Too bad they are gone. This is mid 90s USA Eclipse model that features a lightweight one-piece Honduran Mahogany body, ’59 carve Mahogany neck, 24.75 inch Gibson scale neck, premium Sperzel tuners, TonePros tunomatic bride and stop tailpiece and two Seymour Duncan mini-humbuckers with a three-way switch and volume and tone controls. Everything functions as it should and the action is set to 1/16th” at the 12th fret on the treble side and 3/32nds on the bass side with almost no relief. Plays extraordinarily well with no fret buzz or getting out anywhere on the neck. The tone is with the sound of a full-size hum bucker and blended with the string definition and cut of a single coil. No mud on the bass pickup and no ice-pick on the bridge pickup. It is reminiscent of the kind of growl and grind you get from a vintage Les Paul Special but with much better fit and finish. A great axe at a killer price but I have to thin the herd a bit to raise some cash so she’s on the blocks. I might entertain a trade if it were too good to resist but cash is king these days. It is built like an absolute tank with Honduras mahogany, nitro finish and great SD mini buckers. The profile of the neck is closer to a slim taper than a rounded 59 but if you like USA strats you will be at home. The tone is great, I use it nearly exclusively to cover Queens of the Stone Age and it does an amazing job, of course anything a Firebird can do is also possible as well as eat fuzz for breakfast… loads of punch and bite with clarity. FYI, Hamer was completing and shipping 5 guitars a day. The new price in 97 was 1k.
