DRASTIC PRICE REDUCTION! MAKE THIS GREAT AMP YOURS! For your consideration is a very unique Fender Twin Reverb amp. This amp started out as a modern reissue and ended up like a beautiful vintage offering. The reissue chassis was removed. The cabinet had a crack in the upper right corner that was professionally and seamlessly repaired, actually stronger than when new and totally unnoticeable. I mention this for the sake of total honesty. If I never said anything, you would not know, as it has never been an issue, but in any case you just have to love those guys at UPS for their “custom” work. Next, the stock chassis was replaced with a vintage chassis. The chassis was a point to point wired blue face that was totally overhauled and completely black faced by David Hayes of Hayes amplification, http://www.hayesamplification.com/ and touched off with a black face control plate. The power cord was replaced with a modern heavy duty 3 prong grounded version for safety sake. David Hayes makes some of the finest amps on the planet and there is no doubt his magic now exists in this amp! Next, the speaker wiring harness and send/receive cables from the reverb tank were replaced with the original style braided metal cord to complete the authentic vintage look along with a period correct black Fender foot switch. The result is an amazing trip to the past. This amp is not your typical reissue style strident high power modern approximation. Not to take anything away from the new reissues. They are loud and powerful, but they lack the character of these old school point to point wired Twin Reverbs, being more geared towards increased clean headroom as opposed to warm sweet vintage chime with gradual break up at higher volume. Not that this baby does not get loud, it does indeed pack quite the expected sonic wallop. The difference is that as you get louder, you start to dial in that very desirable soft harmonic break up and chimey bell like overdrive that sounds simply beautiful and is significantly lacking in the reissue model and was also to a certain degree lacking as well in the post CBS blue face models. This amp now functions excellently as a vintage PTP black face Twin Reverb should. As long as you have a venue large enough to withstand the quite huge sonic foot print, this amp can easily be played straight up without any pedals needed for tone enhancement. For smaller applications though, this great amp is unexpectedly very pedal friendly as well for such a powerful amp. The onboard reverb is expectedly, deep, lush, and cavernous; the vibrato (tremolo) ranges from a nice slow deep pounding thump to a Leslie like warble. I was also told that you can reduce the full power by about half with no harm by removing the two inner power tubes although I have never personally tried this. Upper back panel not shown is included and in perfect condition. This is a great sounding amplifier which will be sure to make the owner smile for years to come. I am selling this because I don’t play out anymore and also because it is a heavy amp and that I really do not want to lift anymore as well as beingway too powerful for my apartment to do it justice. That’s it. This amp has gorgeous tone and power to spare. If you are looking at this amp, you know it is different than the pack and you will want it. It’s got that tone! Like a vintage 64/65/66 Fender Deluxe Reverb on steroids!!! Toneful as the the vintage black face Deluxe Reverb but also powerful as all get out! Vintage style foot switch and cover included. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. Local pick up only. I will not ship this amp because twice I shipped Fender amps though UPS and twice they got significantly damaged. The first amp was a Fender Dual Professional. It arrived at its destination with the cabinet broken into pieces, many smashed tubes and the chassis hanging on one side. Good thing I had insurance on it. After several months of “jumping through hoops” UPS finally admitted they “probably” damaged the amp during shipping and cut me a check. The last amp I shipped was a beautiful vintage original Fender ’66 Deluxe Reverb and I decided to go the extra yard this time by having the UPS store pack and ship it. I figured it would be expensive but worth it. The amp arrived to the buyer with three broken tubes and the speaker baffle cracked and wandering around inside the cabinet. At this point I said I was done shipping anything larger than an Orange Micro Terror. Anyway, thanks for looking at my listing. Check my feed back and bid with confidence!
