K and C Music Products Presents for your Review: An Epiphone AK220SCE Acoustic/Electric Guitar Manufacturers Suggested Retail – $392.00 DESCRIPTION and/or PRODUCT INFORMATION: The following guitar and preamp description are from the Epiphone web page: The AJ-220SCE has long been one of Epiphone’s best selling acoustic guitars with the look, sound, and build quality that both first time players and professionals want to hear when they pick up a guitar. The Advanced Jumbo style was first produced at the legendary Kalamazoo factory in the 1930s and has been a favorite of musicians from every field of popular music ever since. The Advanced Jumbo sound is commanding when required but also well balanced which makes it perfect for stage and studio. Now with a killer cutaway and Shadow’s new Performer Tuner™ preamp system, the AJ-220SCE takes yet another step above the competition. With its bell-like shape featuring a larger lower bout and a smaller, round upper bout, the AJ-220SCE has a focused and balanced tone. The bass is deep, rich, and loud while the highs have a crispness and brilliance that cuts through. Most noticeable however, is the AJ-220SCE’s clear mid-range that’s never muddy like a square-shouldered dreadnought. The Advanced Jumbo acoustic guitar is often described as the perfect instrument for the soloist or singer/songwriter with a sound that blends well with vocals. And, its generous and elegant Venetian cutaway enables you to access the upper frets with ease. The AJ-220SCE is equipped with Shadow’s new Performer Tuner™ preamp and NanoFlex™ pickup system for great acoustic tone when plugged in. Made by Shadow Germany, the new Performer Tuner™ preamp features all the controls you need to tailor the sounds of your AJ-220SCE to suit your playing style, volume level, and venue size. Professional features on this state-of-the-art preamp include a built-in Chromatic Tuner, Master Volume, Bass, Treble, Low Battery indicator, and a Phase switch to help eliminate unwanted feedback. It also features a Tuner/Mute button which comes in handy when plugging in or unplugging your guitar. The Performer Tuner™ preamp uses two 2032 lithium watch batteries (may not be included) that are not only lightweight, but provide significantly longer life than old-fashioned, heavy 9-volt batteries. Under the AJ-220SCE’s compensated saddle is Shadow’s proprietary NanoFlex™ low-impedance pickup. Unlike a piezo, the NanoFlex’s™ unique and flexible sensing material features integrated active electronics and picks up not only string vibrations but also top and body vibrations as well for a truly acoustic tone without the harshness of piezo We will review all offers. Refurbished Item Information:Should you buy a refurbished guitar? The choice is, naturally, up to you but we think refurbished guitars (basses, mandolins, banjo’s, etc.) are a terrific value. These instruments must pass more tests than instruments that go directly from the manufacturer to the retailer. They didn’t have major flaws, they had a minor issue such as a poor solder joint, connection or slight finish blemish. We obtain our refurbished instruments from the largest refurbish center in the U. S. They are near Nashville and are staffed with factory trained luthier’s and technicians who take great pride in their work. All guitars pass five (5) tests before they are released to the sales staff for sale. Some guitars are simply discontinued and so no repair is needed. Each item is stamped used and is issued a new serial number. This is to prevent duplicate or illegitimate warranty claims because refurbished items do not carry a manufacturer’s warranty. I have frequently traveled to Nashville to pick my own items and my sales rep understands what I want. I play each item before listing it and you can rest with confidence of this guitars quality. The pictures included will always be those of the actual instrument. We do not use “stock” photographs. If I know why the instrument was refurbished, I will explain herein; but, note that many of them have “No Visible Repairs”. Please email questions and we will provide answers. We are regularly performing musicians. This underlines our pick of items to sell and assures you of knowledgeable responses. Return and Allowance Policy: You may return any item within 14 days of receipt. A Return Goods Authorization number (RGA) is necessary. Please request prior to returning. Items returned will be subject to a 10% restocking charge. Customer pays shipping both ways. K and C Music is a small family business and does not have the luxury of the major corporations to offer trial periods or to sell items on approval. Refunds will be for the cost of the item only. Items that have been misused, abused, improperly repackaged, refused at delivery or visibly used may be charged a 20% restocking charge. Our objective is to sell great equipment at great prices with great satisfaction. Note that some items are not returnable. This includes software and any item affected by personal hygiene (harmonicas, clarinet and saxophone reeds, etc.) and items that are rendered unsalable by simply opening the package (guitar strings is an example).
