Vintage 1970's Unicord/univox/stage 720 2x12 Guitar Amplifier Cool Old Amp Vintage 1970's Unicord/univox/stage 720 2x12 Guitar Amplifier Cool Old Amp

A Univox/Unicord/Stage S720L amplifier. It is from the late 1970’s. Unicord was the corporation name, and these were sold under the Univox or Stage brand name. This is a nice solid state amplifier with newer 2×12 inch speakers. The matching speakers are 8 Ohm and are wired in parallel for 4 ohm resistance. This amp sounds and functions fine. Better yet, it has four nice casters so you can roll it around without effort. It has two channels, reverb, distortion, and a master volume. I tested it and it sounds good. It has an eight foot long, 3-prong power cord in good condition. Serial number 14783. I think there should be a “Stage” logo in the upper left corner of the grill that is now missing. There are two small pieces of tolex cut out on the top of the amp. The handle won’t lie completely flat when not in use. This amp has numerous scratches and dings since it is about forty years old. But it still functions just as it should. The pots all turn well and are not scratchy. I replaced the knob on the reverb control with a matching knob. The cabinet is in good shape and has no weakness or signs of water damage. I won’t ship this amp. We can arrange a local pickup somewhere. The dimensions are 28 inches wide, 21 inches tall (with the casters), and 10.5 inches deep. It weighs about 50 pounds. -Fred.
