Vintage 1950's RCA Type MI-6206-G Aero Pressure microphone old w stand Low ZVintage 1950's RCA Type MI-6206-G Aero Pressure microphone old w stand Low Z

Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome . You are looking at a somewhat rare RCA model Type MI-6206-G Aero Pressure microphone first produced in the late 1940’s I believe and manufactured up until the mid to late 1950’s. It has that classic Buck Rogers look that was very futuristic for it’s time. It comes with detachable baffle and the polished nickel RCA desk stand shown. You’ll notice right away that this MI-6206-G has it’s nice original paint. Theses mics either came in gloss black or umber grey paint. This one is the umber grey version but has more of a cinnamon brown look to it. This is a pretty nice example and the paint shows typical lite wear. There is just a few scratches and paint chips but one would expect this on a mic of this age. The baffle is still present and in excellent shape. No dents and not warped. Many of these RCA model mics are missing the original baffle. This mic has been tested and has an excellent working element. The silk screen was missing so I installed a high quality foam screen replacement to keep debris out. The replacement looks very nice. The signal on this mic is strong and can be used for broadcasting purposes as it was originally intended. It’s set at Low impedance but these always sound more mid to high Z from the examples I have heard. It will give you a classic “Rockabilly” sound. The RCA logo is still present on this mic and you’ll be able to screw this mic onto any American desk or floor stand without issue as it has a 5/8 X 27 thread / adapter though a stand is provided. The mic has a short original 8 inch cable. The cable is still soft and is very pliable. The joint mechanism works excellent with plenty of tension to get just the right angle needed. The original Cannon male connector shows just the smallest of wear. Simply plug in a longer XLR cable and you’re in business. This MI-6206-G has a bit of weight to her and built like a tank! This would make an excellent display piece to put on the shelf, coffee table or just about anywhere. Please let the detailed pics be your guide. An easy 7 + on a scale of 1 – 10 in the cosmetic department. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE… The stand is a nice period piece. It’s an RCA model but the model # is unknown. It has a nice polished nickel finish that shows typical lite wear in the form of small pitting but glows nicely and really compliments the mic. It’s a heavier stand with a stable platform. The mic with stand is appx 11 1/1 inches at it’s highest X 5 inches wide. if the mic is lowered it’s only 9 inches. As with all my vintage microphones… I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not…I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that’s fair but the original purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition…period. Check my rating.
